Here's Jacksonville, Florida's Most Dangerous Neighborhood
Dang! Jacksonville, Florida is rough!
For this video, I took 95 into Jacksonville, Florida. The goal was to check out the absolute worst Jacksonville neighborhoods I could find. Early winter means highs in the 70s, and it was a bright and sunny morning. The day was Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 10 am.
After doing research, it was determined that there were two neighborhoods in Jacksonville that rank as the worst place to live - where crime and poverty is the highest. One of them is here - off of Martin Luther King Jr Parkway on the city’s northeast side.
However I drove through it and it wasn’t that bad. At least it didn’t seem dangerous or beaten up.
The other one is a pocket further east and closer to downtown, a neighborhood right next to 95. This was the one that was the worst, so I’ll focus on that one in particular. This is that hood. It was as expected, rough and poverty stricken.
Jacksonville as a whole is really dangerous as a city. Crime rates in Duval County, where Jacksonville is, are the highest in the whole state of Florida, and that’s saying a LOT. They’ve hired more officers here to combat crime, and crime has dropped, which is good. But Jacksonville has had the highest murder rate in the state for as far back as anyone can remember.
The news has reported that many parts of Jacksonville like this have been crying out for help.
Here’s the rest of the worst neighborhood in the nation’s 12th largest city.
